FACRAO Institute of Strategic Enrollment Management
OverviewFACRAO has established advanced track curriculum for experienced enrollment management/service officers. These sessions are designed specifically to address the needs of our senior professionals who require a more substantive selection of sessions dealing with complex issues. This institute is designed for and delivered as a companion option to the annual state meeting. MissionFISEM is designed to promote industry expertise in the field of collegiate enrollment management strategies. By attending two annual conference institutes and completing three school field visits, FISEM participants attain the distinction of Registered Enrollment Professional (REP). However, completion of the 30 contact hour requirements for the REP is voluntary; veteran professionals may choose to attend the advance track sessions for professional development and not pursue the optional certificate program. HistoryFISEM owes its existence to the pursuit of industry recognition spearheaded by Joe Head of Kennesaw State and his colleagues in the Georgia ACRAO (FACRAO). In 2005 they piloted an Advance Track focus for veteran Enrollment Professionals at the FACRAO Conference held at Jekyll Island. This pilot won AACRAO’s Elbert Ockerman award for State and Regional Professional Activities. Since that time, other states have used the Georgia model to develop their own version of the Registered Enrollment Professional certification. FACRAO began their FISEM program in the summer of 2009 in Orlando and has worked to improve the program by offering the full certification beginning in Summer 2010. |
