Striking the Right Balance

The FACRAO Executive Committee is pleased to announce that this year’s Higher Education Summit will be held in beautiful downtown Tampa, June 12th-16th, 2011 at the Westin Tampa Harbour Island.

For the third year in a row we have joined forces with Florida College Registrars and Admissions Officers (FCRAO) and the State University System Data Workshop to bring you the Higher Education Summit.

The Summit kicks off Sunday the 12th with the FACRAO Institute of Strategic Enrollment Management (FISEM) workshop, followed by the annual FACRAO conference Monday and Tuesday, the FCRAO annual meetings on Wednesday and the SUS meetings and workshop Tuesday afternoon through Thursday. The FACRAO conference will have session tracks for Admissions, Registrar, Enrollment Management, and Graduate and Professional Schools. All sessions are conveniently located in the hotel conference area.

This year’s theme, Striking the Right Balance, says it all as we will offer just the right amount of valuable professional development sessions, workshops, networking opportunities, on your own time, ample food and refreshments, social activities and access to our very supportive Vendors and Exhibitors.

Summit at a Glance

The Summit has four components:

1. FISEM workshop (Sunday June 12 – tentative times 10AM -5PM)
   • Includes; breakfast, lunch, and hospitality suite
2. FACRAO annual Conference (Monday June 13-Tuesday June 14)
   • Includes full breakfast Monday and Tuesday morning
   • FACRAO Annual Business Meeting
   • Concurrent Professional Development Sessions with Tracks for Registrar, Admissions, General and Graduate and Professional Schools
   • Exhibit Hall
   • This year’s Big Event at Splitsville on Monday night with Bowling, Food, Billiards and Dancing!!!
3. FCRAO annual meetings (Wednesday June 14 –all day)
   • Includes Hotel breakfast coupon
4. SUS Data Workshop (Sessions start Tuesday PM through Thursday PM)
   • Includes Hotel breakfast coupons for Wednesday and Thursday
   • Hospitality Suite
   • Lunch on Thursday

Driving Directions

From Tampa International Airport

• Exit the Airport onto Interstate 275 North/Downtown.
• Take I-275 to Exit 44 (Ashley Street - Downtown West).
• Follow the Tampa/Ashley Street ramp and proceed on Tampa Street through downtown.
• Turn right onto Franklin Street which becomes Harbour Island Boulevard and continue to the hotel.

From North

• Take Interstate 75 Tampa Crosstown Expressway, westbound.
• Take the Crosstown Expressway to the Morgan Street Exit.
• At the base of the ramp, merge to the left lane and turn left on Franklin Street.

From Orlando

• Take Interstate 4 West to Interstate 275 South.
• Proceed to Exit 45A downtown Ashley/Tampa Street and take Tampa Street South.
• Stay in the left lane and follow the signs to Tampa Convention Center/Harbour Island.
• This will put you onto Franklin Street. Continue straight and The Westin Tampa Harbour Island will be on the right hand side.

From West

• Take Interstate 4 to Interstate 275 South.
• Proceed to Exit 44 (Ashley Street - Downtown East/West) and take Tampa Street South.
• Turn right onto Franklin Street which becomes Harbour Island Boulevard and continue to the hotel.

From South

• Take Interstate 275 to Exit 44 (Ashley Street - Downtown East/West).
• Take Downtown West and then take Tampa Street South.
• Turn right onto Franklin Street which becomes Harbour Island Boulevard and continue to the hotel.
